Have I got some videos for you! I am getting to the age where I like certain things A LOT! It's no surprise that I love to dance. Well, my moves have become a little more...involved to say the least. I have learned how to jump but can only do it if I think about it REALLY really hard. Mommy is still working on getting that on video. But here I am on various occasions getting down!





I guess because of my love for dance and my awesome rhythm, I am enjoying music and gross motor time more and more...

Mommy did a beautiful thing with the scarves. She tied them together. Pate and I or Mommy and I carry them around the house during music and shake them to the beat. Very VERY cool.


I am beginning to put a little pep in my step lately. I now like to gallop when moving to places. It's so cute!


I'm getting to be one smart cookie. I know all the letters of the alphabet besides C and G. I can also spell the word STOP if given the letters. It started with the stop signs on our walks and went on from there. I am beginning to associate words with the beginning letter. When I see the letter M I say Mama and the letter D, Dada. I also say "quack" with Q and "laugh" with L. Here I am finding some letters.


I am beginning to see basic shapes in everyday objects in books or on walks. The sun is a circle, star in starfish, square in truck. Even today, I was walking around the pathway outside of Moe's (YUM!) and located various sized circles in the lights on the ground and also the pot holes.




Mommy is letting me do more on my own during art and I'm enjoying it much better. I am doing pretty good following the steps of water coloring on my own and dipping brushes and objects in paint by myself.




Having breakfast with daddy...


Daddy was in charge last weekend while he did some work in the kitchen. I love when it's just me and Daddy! This time, I got to play with the microwave!

My favorite book of the time is Go, Dog Go! It is a fairly long book and does not really have a set story line so it drives Mommy and Daddy crazy. But, I love it so much, they can't resist. It also helps that dogs are stopping and going at the light signals, colors, and of course DOGS!

Here I am goofing off before mommy reads it. I have done this since I was a little tot and it still gets cuter every time. (At least that is what they tell me!) I don't know what is funnier: Peyton trying his hardest to be patient for the story to start or me being a goofball!



Mommy cannot believe I can make those noises and concentrate on the story at the same time!

I just started doing this today and Mommy sure gets a kick out of it. She is hoping to get more on camera. But this is all she got out of me for now.

Okay, We get it...it's been a while!!!
We have had so much fun with our families the past month or so, but it has left little time to blog...so here it goes.

This is back from our visit to NOLA in April but is so cute I had to share!


Mikey and Mimi came while Daddy went to his conference. I had so much fun working in the yard with Mimi and exploring with them on their visit! I was so sad to see them go!








Next up was Paw Paw and Maw Maw. We had a blast going to the museum, Jordan Lake, and goofing off at the hotel room!








I had a great time Fourth of July weekend. Blake, Brett and Blake Amelie came to visit. We went to the Bulls game(with fireworks!) and went swimming and had a BBQ on the fourth.






















"Yuck" has been a popular word the past couple of weeks. I use it a lot and sometimes not correctly. But, last weekend, I was eating Daddy's yummy chicken wings and said 'yuck". Mommy and Daddy tried to hide their laughter. Here I am saying "YUCK!"


This dress although very cute, kept getting in my way. So Mommy fixed it and I was happy with that. I am also showing off my knowledge of colors.

What I've been up to...

The weather sure is warming up quickly so I have been spending a lot of time outside. Mommy sets up buckets of water to play in to beat the heat.

Painting at Peyton's birthday party

Mommy couldn't resist. By the look on my face, you can guess that I could!



I have been very interested in role playing. I like identifying and playing with pretend food, giving everyone tastes, and pretending the lemon is sour-yuck! I just got food that I can pretend slice into pieces. Right now, I just pull them apart but I'll be cutting up cucumbers in no time! Here I am feeding the baby ever so gently...

I participate in more and more art activities, but mommy can't get me to stay too long. One day, we used sponge brushes to spread glue and then put torn pieces of paper on top of the glue. So I spread my glue very well, mommy put a pile of torn paper by me, and then showed us how to stick them to the paper. I put one piece and then another. Finally, I just brushed the whole pile on my paper, patted my hands clean, and moved on to the next thing! I ended up with the same product as Camden and Peyton, and had extra time to play!










Museum picks for Mother's Day

Like daddy, I love playing with poker chips. They are one way that I am learning my colors! I fill them into different containers, build towers, and sort them by colors.

More bragging...

I have learned my basic shapes. (circle, square, heart, diamond, star, and triangle) Mommy cut pairs of colored shapes out of foam paper and we play the match game. I also like finding them in books we read. We were in Michaels this morning, and I pulled down some huge foam letters they use to spell out names in baby nurseries. I was so surprised to see matching letters. I started putting all the letter A's in a pile.

I know the colors red, green, blue, and yellow. I play with these color nesting cups during bath and identify the colors as I am building towers. I now know the color white when playing with the poker chips.

We went to the library last week and mommy stocked up on some new books. Do you know I sat and listened to all 12 of them?!? Circle time is my favorite part of the day. We sit and read books, tape stories, flashcards, and sing songs. Mommy has to stop after about 20 minutes because Peyton, Camden, and I would stay there all day if we could. I have become quite the teacher. Usually she calls Peyton to circle time, but now that's my job. I yell "PATE!" and then run over to him as if to say, "Come on man, your holding up circle time!"

Peyton and I play chase a lot in the morning. Well... I try to get Peyton to chase me. I run to one corner of the house and yell "PATE!" Then I run back to him to try again.

I am very interested in the singing magnetic letters I got for my birthday. I now know almost half of the letters. I don't say all of them, but if mommy asks to hear one, I grab it to hear the sound the letter makes. I even know some of the letter sounds. Mommy can't believe I know half of the alphabet.

I am a pro at using a spoon to eat certain things like oatmeal, rice, and beans. We tried cheerios in milk and I am doing pretty good.

I copy a lot of mommy and daddy's actions even if I don't understand them. Daddy noticed that when he turns on my bath water, I feel the water and try to adjust the knob to warm or cold.

Dancing has become one of my favorite things to do. I know you have seen my stylish moves. I even stand up and mimic the dances on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Not only do I stand up and dance, I have memorized when they come on in the show and look at mommy to join along. Tonight, I handed mommy the remote after their march to rewind it again, and again...

I am completely pacey free now. I have a "lovie" and blanket I use and a mini Donald Duck book.I love those things!

I love trucks! I look for them out the window of the car when riding, on our walks, and in books. Mommy and daddy even got me a tonka truck that makes lovely sounds.

I have learned what a boo boo is and I call them "ouchies." My first ouchy was on my knee. Usually during bath time I'd noticed it was there and gasp while pointing. I then have a sad look on my face. Daddy or mommy would say "I'm sorry you have an ouchy" and kiss their finger and touch it. Then I would look satisfied and point to the other knee and compare. This would go on about 5-10 times a bath.

I am very interested in showing compassion to others. I love giving hugs and kisses to Camden and Peyton, especially when they are sad.

We wanted to send Uncle Reedy a Memorial Day card so mommy took pictures of me waving the American flag. Unfortunately, Mommy doesn't have Patriotic music. Since it is known that I love Spanish music, we went with that!

Not only do I have a favorite song, but I only like a specific part of the song!

A Beautiful Day at the Strawberry Patch

I finally made it to the strawberry patch today with Mommy, Daddy, and Nana. I really enjoy picking flowers so this was right up my alley. I even knew which ones were ready to be picked. I guess it's a good thing I know some of my colors because I was able to spot out the red ones. It must be known that I participated in all the steps of picking these beauties- picking, putting them in my basket, carrying the basket with me, picking...




...sampling a little taste.(I had to make sure they were good, right?) It took me a little while to realize that eating could also be a FUN step of the picking process.
