Our Weekend

What a busy weekend!

Friday, we went to Friday on the Porch at UNC to listen to some music. I sure had a good time meeting new people and exploring the sticks and grass. I noticed it needed some tending so I decided to pull it all up and try to put it in my mouth.






When we got home it was close to my bedtime, but I suckered mommy into a story. For most books, I am only interested in turning the pages. But, there are a select few that I find worthy of my attention.



Saturday, we went to the Kids Exchange in Raleigh and we scored some sweet deals. I got a cool table for a whopping eight bucks! Mommy and daddy are also happy that it requires no batteries.


We spent the afternoon hanging around the house and enjoyed the nice weather on the deck. I am really cruising at a fast pace.






I ended the afternoon with a wonderful performance. I think it is obvious that I am beginning to love the sound of my voice!



Saturday, I took my last ride in my infant carrier. As you can see, my feet hang off the edge so riding in my big girl car seat is long overdue.



We went to the Eno State Park on Sunday and walked along the trails with Uncle Josh and Aunt Gwen. I had a spectacular view on our walk and liked splashing in the water.











I am becoming very familiar with my own noises lately and try to mimic things I hear. My new favorite thing to do while eating is smacking my lips to show mommy and daddy just how much I love food! This beats the many other tricks I have learned at the dinner table that mommy and daddy do not like.

Teething

Teething Terror!

Hello all! I've been away for a while. I was able to visit all my grandparents for a week. Yes, I was away from home for a whole week! Mommy and daddy did not know what to do with themselves! When I came back, mommy noticed I was doing funny things with my tongue...

We can only guess that a tooth may soon appear. I sure am gnawing and slobbering a lot, but no other signs of a tooth yet. I must say, I have not been myself so mommy and daddy are trying lots of stuff to help me out. I get to eat yummy popsicles, chew on frozen washcloths, play with ice, and gum teethers and foods. Occasionally, I can have my paci "chilled" even when it is not sleepy time. Isn't that sweet?

I couldn't grab the ice cubes for the life of me, but it felt good to put my cold fingers in my mouth!

Getting Around

It didn't take me long to put the pedal to the metal, baby. I cruise around like a speed demon. My favorite spot is the kitchen by the sliding glass door for many reasons: it is completely out of eyesight from the living room, usually has some pet lounging in the sun, and the VENT! If I'm lucky, I can feel the cold air coming out of the vent and am totally fascinated by that! I look like a super model striking my pose!








The kitchen is also a fabulous place because I am on a mission to pull up on the sliding glass door. Let's just say it is a work in progress... and many battle wounds to come. So yes, I am pulling up now and I feel so big and tall. My favorite place to pull up is my lights and sound bench. Of course, it is probably the most unsafe thing for me to use for pulling up, but that's what makes it fun, right? Mommy helps me pull up on shelves and daddy helps me pull up on the sofa. You know, sturdy things for me to test my balance. And to that I say, "no thanks."

Book Worm

I am loving books and pictures! I make noises and point to the characters in the story. It is my job to turn the pages, and I take that job pretty seriously. In fact, there is no point in reading the whole thing sometimes because it just slows me down.







Painting

The other night, I painted and tasted my first work of art. I must say, if turning pages doesn't work out, I have a back up plan. Please, let me know your color scheme and I'll paint you something real nice. I bring a whole new meaning to abstract art!

Swimming

Last weekend, we went swimming in the biggest bath tub I have ever seen! It was so much fun. Mom tried to put my ladybug float in the pool and I was having none of that. That thing freaks me out! It can't even be near me. I did like splashing and gliding in the water. Gotta work on keeping my mouth closed, though.



Staying home

Peyton and I are getting pretty tight. He has a good understanding that I am the boss. I'm just kidding! He does love to watch me play and act goofy which I think is just great. I play this game with him while he is trying to take a nap. I scream "DA!" and he answers me. (In a not so nice tone...) Mommy got a double stroller so we can go on walks.

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July everybody! I am getting more and more independent everyday! (And getting into everything.)





My mommy and daddy finally found the perfect mat so I can cruise. Of course, I like to find fun things off of the mat like the entertainment center. It's for my entertainment, right?

Though I venture off my mat often, it has become the hang out place in the living room.


So this was the first week home with mommy. I must say she is trying her best to keep me happy. I like making her work so she has fun getting me out of "grown up" things and away from the toys that Peyton finds interesting. But you know me, I have to make sure he knows how to use them correctly. I'm just trying to make him feel welcomed!

I am showing Peyton how we do tummy time on the water mat. This kids got potential.


Nana came in on Wednesday night. Woo hoo! I am loving this extra attention. She really knows how to make me happy. She brought my activity walker and I helped daddy put it together.




We had fun hanging out on the deck. She makes me laugh so hard you can see my fancy white pearls.


Old Ma Ma sent up a little treat for me to use when we go shopping. You know I had to spend that money pronto. I decided on a baby pool. We tested it out, and I love it. Here are some pictures and videos of me in action.
